Oh Momma Italian Burger
Serves 4
- 1 ½ pound ground beef
- ¾ pound mild Italian bulk sausage
- 2-3 teaspoons garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons basil pesto
- 3 tablespoons sun dried tomatoes in olive oil, minced
- 2 teaspoons s.a.l.t. sisters Tuscan Farmhouse Blend
Directions:
Spread the meat out on a board; add the garlic, pesto, sun-dried tomatoes, Tuscan Farmhouse Blend. Mix all the ingredients into meat and form 4 patties.
Brush burgers with olive oil. Grill burgers on medium high heat. About 4 minutes a side.
- 4 Buns, lightly toasted on the grill
- Pepper and Olive Mayo sauce
- 4 slices of fresh mozzarella
- 8 thin slices of an Italian meat, sopresasta or pancetta
- 1 cup baby spinach leaves
To assemble the burgers, spread the mayonnaise mixture over the top & bottom bun halves, add the burger then top with a mozzarella slice, 2 slices of Italian meat and a few spinach leaves.
Pepper and Olive Mayo sauce
½ cup mayonnaise
¼ cup roasted red peppers. chopped
½ cup Kalamata olives, chopped
Blend all ingredients together in a small bowl.
