Paired with Herbes de Provence with Sea Salt
Yield: 2 dozen
Ingredients
-
¾ c. clarified butter, at room temperature
-
¾ c. powdered sugar (plus more for sprinkling)
-
Zest of 1 orange
-
1 ¾ c. all-purpose flour (plus more for rolling)
Directions
-
Preheat the oven to 325°F with a rack in the center. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
-
In a mixing bowl, beat the butter on high for about 6 minutes, until light and fluffy.
-
Add the powdered sugar, Herbes de Provence with Sea Salt, and orange zest. Beat for another 2 minutes, until well combined.
-
Scrape down the sides of the bowl, then gradually add the flour, ½ cup at a time, mixing until the dough is crumbly but holds together when squeezed.
-
Roll out the dough to 1-inch thickness, then use a scalloped cookie cutter to cut out cookies. Transfer to the prepared baking sheets and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
-
While still warm, sift additional powdered sugar over the cookies. Let cool slightly, then enjoy.
Light, buttery, and infused with delicate floral notes, these cookies turn any occasion into a moment worth savoring.
